THE GROUND MICA :

By far the largest use of mica, both quantitative and application wise is in the form of mica powder and flakes. Very few minerals can , in fact, claim such a wide applications in so many different industries. The properties and usefulness of mica powder are too numerous to be described in full in an article like this. The future is likely to unfold the outstanding properties with which mica powder is bestowed and best be utilized in so many diversified applications in various industries, in certain spheres as vital and as indispensable as any other material, to prove to be of immense benefit to human civilization. In brief, it may boldly be said that the uses of mica powder will be broadened with the advance of scientific knowledge and the creative imagination of man in utilizing the unique combination of properties of this versatile pigment to meet the needs of the future.

Mica is one of the most difficult minerals to grind. Even the thinnest flakes are tough, elastic and slippery and resist abrasion and consequently grinding it is a slow, costly and difficult operation. It is all the more difficult operation to grind it to fine mesh without any deterioration of its natural brilliance, gloss and color.

The mica scrap or waste obtained in course of processing and dressing sheet mica is ground and pulverised into powder and flakes of different fineness by three different processes, namely, dry ground, wet ground and micronizer. In this article we are concerned primarily with the dry grinding of Indian muscovite mica.

Our plant produces only the highest quality of dry ground mica powder in a wide range of selected mesh size to meet the specifications and requirements of different industrial uses. It is well known that each grade of mica powder has its one particular characteristics and significance and no one grade is good enough for the all the applications.

We manufacture mica plates as per customers requirement

We manufacture Mica Flakes/Powder from 2 Mesh to as fine as 10 microns. The particle size distribution can be made as for Buyer's requirement.
